I am a faculty member of Ridgewater College’s Veterinary Technology Program in Willmar Minnesota where I teach clinical pathology, behavior, clinical nutrition and am a co-advisor for the student chapter of NAVTA. I graduated from Wayne County Community College’s Veterinary Technology Program having received the Hill’s Scholarship, Michigan Association of Veterinary Technicians Scholarship, Student Leadership Award and Graduate of the Year award. I also have a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in Zoology with a focus on animal behavior. Since moving from Michigan to Minnesota I earned my teaching license in technical education from the State of Minnesota.

I am an active member of the Association of Veterinary Technician Educators (AVTE) and a past member of their board of directors. I represent AVTE on the Veterinary Technician Testing Committee (VTTC) of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB), where I help validate the Veterinary Technician National Exam (VTNE). Also I am involved with the AAVSB’s subcommittee that writes and reviews new questions for the VTNE.

I have trained a hearing service dog for the Minnesota Hearing and Service Dogs and helped train first responders on how to handle animals in an emergency through Basic Animal Rescue Training (BART). When not working I love to garden, watch all types of wildlife, dabble in photography and play with my furry family of three labs and a very bossy cat.
